Trumpland: you HAVE to see this movie

Went to see Michael Moore’s Trumpland film last night with my better half, and it was surprisingly great and funny, and inspiring. We expected to see the usual gotcha interviews with people on the street and corrupt Republicans (a la “Roger and Me”), netting some eye-rolling and uncomfortable moments. Instead, the film is basically a one-man stage show by Moore, something I might have expected from Garrison Keillor (sans the musical interludes).

The whole concept was to visit a “red” community in Indiana, lease the theatre, and invite a mixed audience. I don’t want to spoil it for you, but the audience is truly mixed, and hilarity ensues just over that issue. Moore is really inventive (we knew that) and very funny, a side of him that I hadn’t seen before. He gently and not so gently trolls the conservatives in the audience, and the crowd shots are some of the best parts of the film.

The best however, is the tribute to Hillary Clinton. A lot of stuff you didn’t know or didn’t remember. And It is literally a tear jerker. I won’t spoil it for you but you HAVE to see this movie. If you don’t, I’ll never speak to you again.
